Acid-Free Tape
For original and limited edition art prints and photos, acid free tape in combination with acid free mounting boards are frequently used. This combination
preserves the art and makes it easy to change the framing style in the future. Foam board is used for smaller pieces of art, but when a sturdier backing is needed, gator board can be used.

Dry Mount
For open edition prints, posters, newspaper articles, and some thinner photographs, drymounting is preferred. Drymounting adheres the art to a mounting board under heat and pressure. No sprays or liquid adhesives are used.
The end result is art that is flattened and supported on an acid-free archival surface. We can do drymounting for art up to 40"x 60" in size in our store and will outsource the drymounting of larger works of art.

Canvas Transfers
A canvas transfer is an open edition print which has been prepared properly and then drymounted directly
onto canvas. The print is "fused" with the canvas such that the the print has a canvas texture. The canvas
can then be stretched in the same manner as canvas paintings with either a museum or gallery wrap. Canvas
transfers should not be done on original or limited edition prints as this altars the purpose and value of
the such prints. A framed canvas transfer is an excellent alternative to framing a print with mat and glass.
The result is more like an original painting.

Museum Wrap
With museum wraps, the canvas is stretched over stretcher bars and stapled on the back. The image only shows on the front. There is a variety of stretcher bar widths and depths for canvas sizes ranging up to to 6'x8'. For larger pieces, a cross bar is used for extra support. Museum wraps can be painted on the sides or framed so that the sides are hidden.

Gallery Wrap
Gallery wraps follow the same procedure as museum wraps except that the image appears on the front and sides. Framing is not required for gallery wraps. Gallery wrapping adds a 3rd dimension to the piece since the art is visible from all sides as you are viewing the art on the wall.
