Art FAQs
- Can I make a canvas print from a digital image? Yes, we can print from your digital images onto canvas
and create your own work of art. Images greater than 2MB in size result are recommended for enlarging and printing to canvas for sizes
up to 16x20. Images greater than 4MB in size are recommended for enlarging and printing to canvas for sizes that are larger than this.
We are able to print up to 44x96. For very large sizes such as this, images greater than 6MB in size are recommended. The digital image
can be from your camera or from an on-line source of digital images.
- For a digital image, can you enhance it by altering the background or retouching faces? Yes, we are able
to blur, improve, or replace backgrounds. We are are also able to take eyes and faces from one or more digital images and use them
to enhance an image. We can also retouch eyes, faces, teeth, and smiles. Once altered, the digital image can then be enlarged and
printed on photographic paper or canvas.
- Can you stretch canvas art that we purchased elsewhere? Yes, we are able to stretch canvas art that you
provide to us. The size of the canvas can be up to 8' x 8'. For stretching, you have a choice of doing a museum wrap or gallery wrap.
With a museum wrap, the canvas is stretched so that the image is flush with the edges of the stretcher bar and when framed, the entire
image can be viewed. With a gallery wrap, the canvas is stretched so that the image wraps around the stretcher bar so that the outside
of the image can be seen on the edges. Art with a gallery wrap is not framed. The stretcher bars can range from 1/2" to 2" deep. The
1/2" to 7/8" deep stretcher bars for used for museum wraps while the 2" deep stretcher bar is popular for gallery wraps.
- If I purchase art and the colors or style isn't right for my home or office, can I return it? Yes, you
are able to return the art within 1 week and receive a complete refund or exchange. We have such a wide variety of art, that it is likely
you will be able to find something that can work for your space.
- If I see art on your website, does that mean it is in stock? Yes, if the art is displayed on our website
and not marked as sold, then it is in stock and available for purchase. There is a small chance that the art just sold and the website
has not been updated to reflect that sale. That is why we don't accept payment on our website, but rather ask that you contact us expressing
interest in purchasing the art so that we can absolutely guarantee that the art is available for purchase.
- If I purchase an original or limited edition, will I receive a certificate of authenticity? Yes, you will receive
a certificate of authenticity that includes the title, artist, year of creation or issue, medium, and in the case of limited editions, the
limited edition number. There are a few limited editions for which we didn't receive a certificate of authenticity from the artist, but in
most cases we will provide one. We provide a pocket on the back of the frame for storing the certificate.
- If I need art of a certain size, orientation (portrait or landscape), color, and style and I don't see something on your
website, are you able to locate some choices that might work? Yes, we have access to a range of hardcopy catalogs, on-line
catalogs, and other on-line resources for finding a selection of art that match your requirements. We can provide images or links to this
art so you are able to decide which is best. We can then order the art and have the it shipped to us generally in 3-5 business days. If for some
reason, you aren't satisfied with the art, we are able to return it to the provider within 10 days. In this case you would need to pay
for shipping both to and from and sometimes the vendor requires a percentage or fixed amount restocking fee. Today, most of the preview
images on-line or in catalogs are of such a high quality that it is extremely unlikely that the art when delivered differs significantly
from the art as previewed. Therefore returns are not common for this reason. If the art is damaged in shipment, then the providers will
replace it at no extra cost.
- Are their discounts on the price of art shown on your website? Yes, in many cases we can discount the price
shown on the website. For art we have in stock and for which you will have framing done by us, we are able to offer a discount on the art,
framing, or sometimes both. For originals for which we have an agreement from artists to offer promotions from time to time we are able
to offer a discount. We are competitively priced and generally match or beat other competitor prices. Please contact us if you have
an interest in a specific work of art and we can quote our best price for your situtation.
- Do the sizes shown on your website include the frame? Yes, if the art is already framed, then the size represents
the outside dimensions of the frame. If the art is not framed, then the size indicates the dimensions of the image. If the art is not
framed and has a border with text around the image, the size still represents the dimensions of the image.
